Job Purpose

Seed Co Limited is seeking highly self-motivated and results-driven Agronomy Champions to join its Commercial Team. The successful candidates will play a key role in driving demand generation and market growth for Seed Co products within their assigned territories. This will be achieved through the establishment of high-quality demonstration plots, the delivery of practical training on Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs), active participation in farmer meetings and the execution of strategic field events aimed at educating, engaging, and influencing farmers, agro-dealers, and other key stakeholders across the value chain.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Identify suitable demonstration sites within the area of operation in line with regional demand creation plans and established standards.
  • Implement demonstration plot placements in alignment with regional demand generation and market development plans.
  • Establish, manage, and maintain demonstration plots to ensure they meet Seed Co’s prescribed quality standards.
  • Identify, recruit, and train farmers, agro-dealers, and traders on Seed Co products, agronomic practices, and general crop production techniques.
  • Organize and facilitate pre-planting meetings within the assigned territory in accordance with set targets and schedules.
  • Plan and conduct Farmers’ Field Days (FFDs) and other field-based promotional activities to showcase product performance and best farming practices.
  • Prepare and submit accurate daily, weekly, and ad hoc reports as required, providing updates on field activities, demonstrations, farmer engagement, and market insights.

Qualifications and skills required

  • A Diploma/Degree in Agronomy or any other related field.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in the agricultural sector.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
