The overall purpose at Seed Co Vegetables is to create value for the farmer, help maximise farming investment and improve per– acre or hectare profits, foster partnerships along the value chains and promote sustainability.
Seed Co Vegetables has widened the range of its hybrid varieties that farmers can select from, with each variety conferring unique features guided by market preferences.
The whole world is moving towards healthy living with doctors calling for increased vegetable consumption and this is one of the big agendas for Seed Co Vegetables, to play a huge role in the nutrition agenda.
Morgan is a Chartered Accountant who holds a Masters in Business Leadership from the University of South Africa and has also attended the Strategy Master Academy at the University of Cape Town’s Business School. He attended the Advanced Management Programme 181 at Harvard Business School in Boston. Morgan has been involved in the seed industry since 1998 having joined the company back then as Chief Financial Officer. He has previously held senior corporate positions with entities in the Mining, Manufacturing, Retail, Banking and Real Estate industries. He sits on the Boards of FBC Bank and TSL Limited.
Following a Master degree of Engineering from Paris Institute of technology for life, food and environmental sciences (AgroParis Tech) with major in Agronomy, Water and Environmental Science & Technology, Caroline has been working for more than 20 years in the vegetable seed industry. She has a wide international experience that started in Africa with Technisem in 2000 before joining HM.CLAUSE in 2005. She then held various positions in Sales & Product Development, Business strategy and Marketing for the company in China, India and the US before returning to the headquarter in France in 2021 to administer the whole EMEA region. She was awarded “International Woman of the Year” at the Trophies of the French Women of Industry in 2017.
Agricultural Engineer and French Foreign Trade Advisor, Frédéric Savin, has spent his whole career at Limagrain, in various roles in seeds businesses. He joined Vilmorin SA as Product Manager (vegetable seeds) in 1988 and later became Marketing Director.
He continued his career with Harris Moran Seed Co, a Limagrain subsidiary, as Sales Manager for Europe. Frederic subsequently moved to the Vilmorin SA’s subsidiary in Turkey for 8 years, where he worked on field seeds market, vegetable seeds market, fertilizers and home-garden products.
From 2014, Frédéric has been in charge of Limagrain Field Seeds development in Africa. This role has had him working on the one hand, with the Limagrain subsidiary (Maïze and Soja), based in South Africa, as well as Seed Co Group, the strategic partner of Limagrain in Africa, across 9 African countries (Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Botswana, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, South-Africa, and Ghana).
Today, his experience in the seed sector enables him to quickly analyze African markets’ needs and meaningfully contribute to the development of agriculture in Africa.
With effect from October 1st, 2017, Frederic became a Director, Limagrain Africa Field Seeds as well as a Board member on the Seed Co Limited and Seed Co International Boards. He has been based in Johannesburg for 5 years.
A holder of a Masters Degree in Banking from the University of London, Sam is a highly accomplished and results driven agriculture and financial management executive with over 18 years of broad and diversified experience in commodity financing, trade and project financing, and international trade. Sam joined the Seed Co Group in 2012, and is currently responsible for the Common Customs Union markets for the Group, as well as handling the Group Treasury Functions. Sam has previously held senior corporate positions in the banking sector in Southern Africa, as well as the agriculture industry.
