Lawal Taiwo is a Nigerian finance and business leader with over 15 years of progressive experience spanning strategic business leadership, financial management, reporting, treasury, business process improvement, governance, and corporate administration. He currently serves as Head of Business at AgriseedCo Nigeria Ltd (SeedCo Nigeria), providing strategic leadership for the Nigerian business, driving alignment with corporate strategy and targets, and managing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
He is also a Board Trustee of the African Agricultural Technology Foundation (AATF) Nigeria, contributing to the administration and general oversight of the organisation.
Prior to his current leadership role, Taiwo served as Finance Manager at AgriseedCo Nigeria, where his responsibilities included financial reporting, internal controls, cash-flow and foreign-exchange liquidity management, process automation, regulatory and audit relationships, and shareholder reporting. His earlier career includes senior finance and accounting roles at Organo Gold Products Nigeria, Chapel Hill Denham, Deloitte Nigeria, Nextzon Business Services, and Gapbridge Microfinance Bank.
He holds a B.Sc. in Banking and Finance from Lagos State University, is an Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) and Associate Accounting Technician (AAT) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (ACS). His professional experience spans international research institutions, academia, and multinational seed companies, where he has held various technical and leadership roles.
As Head of Research & Product Development at Seed Co Nigeria Limited, Victor leads the development, testing, adaptation, and registration of high-yielding, climate-smart, and nutritious crop varieties suited to Nigeria’s growing conditions.
His expertise and contributions to crop improvement have supported the release and registration of multiple maize, soybean, wheat, sorghum, and cowpea varieties, strengthening Seed Co’s product portfolio and advancing agricultural productivity in Nigeria.
