Seed Co Malawi Ltd opened its trading books in Malawi in 2000. The Company has since grown rapidly to attain a challenging position within the seed industry. In 2000, Seed Co Malawi commanded less than 5% market share but this started changing in the succeeding periods. In 2005, the business attained a market share position in excess of 40%. Since 2005, Seed Co Malawi has been consolidating its market position and currently, the business takes lead in maize hybrid seed, soybean seed and vegetable portfolios.

The best answer to this question is planting frost tolerant, cool season crops that can withstand harsh cold weather e.g. broccoli, cabbage, Cauliflower, lettuce etc. But you can artificially increase temperature in winter by the use of heaters in the greenhouse or artificial lighting in the field that produces heat. Traditionally farmers would fence the edge of the garden to help keep plants off colds. The use of Products like Vapour guard can also help a great deal.
