Seed Co is a leading Pan-African seed company, established in 1940. Specializing in research, production, and marketing of certified seeds, we serve both small-scale and commercial farmers across several African countries. We specialize in maize, varied small grains portfolio, vegetables, wheat and beans.

We are seeking a dynamic, results-oriented and strategic individual to join our organization as the Marketing Officer to be based in Kenya. The incumbent will be reporting to the National Sales Manager and will be responsible for managing marketing activities in line with the country’s growth strategy.

Duties and responsibilities

• Formulates and coordinates marketing thematics across the country
• Plans and implements marketing activities in line with company visibility targets
• Plan and implement marketing strategy, including advertising and PR
• Directs and oversees the company marketing function to identify and develop new customers
• Research and develop strategies and plans which identify marketing opportunities, direct marketing, and new project development for the market
• In liaison with external agencies-Operationalize brand plans
• Manages relevant reporting of management and financial information for the sales and marketing department
• Seeks and continuously develops knowledge and information about competitor activity, pricing, and tactics, and communicates this to relevant departments in the Company
• Manage forecasting & demand planning across S&M ecosystem with proven/deep budgetary understanding.

Qualifications and skills required

Applicant must possess the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years in a busy tight paced marketing-oriented firm with good commercial understanding at a leadership level is an added advantage
• Experience in managing projects with tight timelines delivering results
• Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills
• Strategic thinking with an ability to execute plans effectively.
