Product Description

Nicknamed the “Dessert Walker” by local farmers, it is a yellow, early maturing variety with excellent drought tolerance rate and good tolerance to grey leaf spot. SC 506 has excellent adaptation to low rainfall areas and high heat units. This variety does well across all the regions of the country.

It is very good for silage and has good standability
Takes 94 days to green mealie, 109 days to silage, 120 days to physiological maturity and 125 days to harvest as grain
It can yield up to 10 tons/ha under very good management
It has good tolerance to Grey Leaf Spot (GLS)
