In the timeless corridors of agriculture, where soil meets seed and effort yields harvest, it is often said that great partnerships do not merely grow, they endure. For Seed Co, 2025 marks a profound milestone: 85 years of “Keep Growing”, not only in fields but also in relationships.
To celebrate this enduring legacy, and to honour those who have been instrumental in carrying its vision across borders and seasons, Seed Co chose to conclude its learning and sharing tour in India held between the 30th of June, to the 2nd of July, 2025 with a symbolic, heartfelt journey to the Taj Mahal, one of the world’s greatest monuments of history, beauty, and cultural values.
We could not just end our three-days of intense agricultural immersion with Syngenta in Hyderabad and Lima Grain in Siddipet, where valuable lessons on seed distribution, intercropping, and farmer engagement exist. We also found ourselves standing before a monument not built on agriculture, but built on love, respect, and vision. It was a moment of contrast from soil to stone yet deeply symbolic of what Seed Co values most: long-lasting partnerships rooted in trust and shared purpose.
The visit to Agra’s Taj Mahal on the 6th of July 2025 was more than a sightseeing detour. It was Seed Co’s way of saying “thank you.” The oft-quoted cliché that “all work and no play make Jack a dull boy” rang true, and the experience served as a refreshing, reflective pause for those whose hands are often too full of planting, planning, and promoting seed across Zambia’s vast agricultural landscape.
The journey from New Delhi to Agra was filled with laughter, storytelling, and anticipation of a gentle shift from learning mode to leisure. Yet, even in this leisurely pursuit, the parallels between the Taj Mahal and the Seed Co-agro-dealer relationship were hard to ignore. Just as the Taj Mahal is a structure of enduring beauty and strength, built over years with patience, precision, and purpose, so too is Seed Co’s network of agro dealers: constructed over decades of resilience, shared commitment, and mutual growth.
For the agro-dealers, standing at the foot of this iconic white-marble mausoleum offered a rare moment to reflect not just on history, but on the legacy of their own, and that of Seed Co. Many had never travelled to India before, much less at the Taj Mahal. It was a dream come true for them.
“It’s a place I’ve only ever seen in textbooks or movies,” shared the representative from Tilo Agro Dealers. “To be brought here not just for learning, but to be appreciated it reminds us that our work matters deeply.”
Throughout the trip, but especially during this final stop, Seed Co made it clear that its success is inseparable from the contribution of agro dealers. These are not just distribution points or business partners; they are stewards of the Seed Co brand, the direct link between the company’s promise and the farmer’s hope. Their voices build trust in farmers, from small scale to commercial. Their hands lift the very seeds that nourish nations. And for that, they deserved a moment of grandeur.
Mumocha Enterprises representative put it: “This is more than just a gift or a gesture. It’s a reminder that even in agriculture, which is full of deadlines and demands, there is room for celebration. It energizes us to keep pushing, and we will even sell more, and we will keep serving our farmers better.”
The symbolism of the Taj Mahal, a structure created out of deep love and unshakable commitment couldn’t have been more fitting. For 85 years, Seed Co has cultivated more than crops; it has cultivated a network of partnerships based on trust and consistent delivery. This anniversary trip was, in many ways, a mirror to the ethos of the Taj enduring relationships that outlast seasons and trends.
The air was not filled with technical jargon or strategic plans but with shared awe and laughter. It was a moment of restoration, reminding each participant why they began this journey in agriculture in the first place not just to sell seeds, but to feed futures and build communities.
As Seed Co looks forward to the next 85 years, the message is clear through this experience: business can be purposeful without being joyless. That it is possible and necessary to blend hard work with heartfelt appreciation.
