She woke up before sunrise, like she always does.
Not to revise.
Not to prepare for class.
But to check.
Check if it had started.
Check if she had anything to use.
Check if today would be another quiet absence no one would question.
Because sometimes, the biggest reason a girl misses school… is something the world refuses to talk about.
This Women’s Month, Seed Co Kenya chose not to stay silent.
Through a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, they stepped beyond boardrooms and into real lives, showing up for the girls of Kanaani Secondary School in a way that was raw, human, and impossible to ignore.
Together with the Ministry of Health and Superior Homes Kenya, this wasn’t just a visit.
It was a moment. A shift. A statement.

Yes, sanitary towels were donated.
But what the girls received went far beyond that.

They received:
And for the students of Kanaani Secondary School, one thing became clear:
They were seen. They were supported. They mattered.
One by one, voices rose.
What started as shy glances turned into honest, unfiltered conversations.
And this time, no one shut them down.
Every speaker, from Seed Co staff to partners, stepped forward not just to present… but to connect.
All voices mattered.
The Students’ Voices
“We are very grateful to Seed Co Kenya for bringing smiles and joy our way, the interaction we had was very insightful.“
“Tumefunzwa mambo ya kujilinda na kujikinga from kupata ball and kusema no“
“Asante sana kwa kuja kututembelea, wageni ni baraka“
The Seed Co voices
“We are very proud to be associated with you and it was an honour to be part of this initiative.“
“We walked so that you could run, we ran so that you could fly high“
Ministry of Health voices
“We would like to empower our girls and give them shoulders to stand on.”
“We appreciate the love and warm welcome from the girls, you have bright futures ahead of you.“

They tackled the conversations society often avoids:
These weren’t rehearsed speeches.
They were real conversations, the kind that stay with you long after the day ends.

Not as “visitors” and “students.”
But as people.
They shared a meal.
They laughed.
They listened.
Walls came down.
In that moment, the girls weren’t just beneficiaries of a CSR activity they were future leaders being poured into, believed in, and uplifted.
Because period shame doesn’t just stain uniforms, it stains confidence.
Because missing school doesn’t just affect grades, it alters futures.
Because a girl who feels unsupported today may start believing she doesn’t belong tomorrow.
But Kanaani Secondary School felt the opposite that day.
They felt chosen.

At Seed Co Kenya, growth isn’t just about what goes into the soil.
It’s about what grows in people.
This CSR activity wasn’t just about giving.
It was about:
Because when you keep a girl in school… you don’t just protect her education.

You protect her future.
And this time, she won’t have to wake up and wonder if she should stay home.
She’ll show up.
Bold. Seen. Ready.
