Because sometimes, the biggest reason a girl misses school… is something the world refuses to talk about.

This Women’s Month, Seed Co Kenya chose not to stay silent.

Through a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, they stepped beyond boardrooms and into real lives, showing up for the girls of Kanaani Secondary School in a way that was raw, human, and impossible to ignore.

Together with the Ministry of Health and Superior Homes Kenya, this wasn’t just a visit.

It was a moment. A shift. A statement.

It Started With Sanitary Towels… But It Didn’t End There

Yes, sanitary towels were donated.

But what the girls received went far beyond that.

They received:

• Dignity: no more choosing between staying home or facing embarrassment
• Confidence: the freedom to sit in class without fear
• Belonging: the powerful feeling that someone actually cares

And for the students of Kanaani Secondary School, one thing became clear:

They were seen. They were supported. They mattered.

Then the Silence Broke

One by one, voices rose.

What started as shy glances turned into honest, unfiltered conversations.

And this time, no one shut them down.

• And the truth about menstrual health without shame, without filters

These weren’t rehearsed speeches.

They were real conversations, the kind that stay with you long after the day ends.

And Then… They Sat Down Together

Not as “visitors” and “students.”

But as people.

They shared a meal.
They laughed.
They listened.

Walls came down.

In that moment, the girls weren’t just beneficiaries of a CSR activity they were future leaders being poured into, believed in, and uplifted.

Why This Was Bigger Than One Day

Because period shame doesn’t just stain uniforms, it stains confidence.

Because missing school doesn’t just affect grades, it alters futures.

Because a girl who feels unsupported today may start believing she doesn’t belong tomorrow.

But Kanaani Secondary School felt the opposite that day.
