Zambia: SC 727 is a late-maturing white maize variety that reaches maturity in approximately 145-150 days. It produces white, dent grain and has a yield potential of 12-14 tonnes per hectare, equivalent to approximately 240-280 × 50 kg bags. It has tolerance to Grey Leaf Spot, Northern Corn Leaf Spot and Maize Streak Virus and moderate tolerance to Diplodia and Fusarium. Its drought tolerance is rated moderate, while its standability is very good. SC 727 is recommended for summer grain and cattle stover.

DRC: SC 727: A late maturing variety (145-150 days) with white, semi dent grain and a potential yield of 14 tonnes per hectare. It has reported tolerance to grey leaf spot, northern corn leaf blight, maize streak virus, and Diplodia and Fusarium ear rot. Its drought tolerance is rated good and its standability very good. It is listed for rainy season grain and livestock fodder in Zones 1-7.

It has a very high yield potential of up to 19.9 tonnes per hectare, the highest stated yield potential among the hybrids presented in the supplied Zimbabwe brochure. The brochure describes it as a top yielder and farmer's choice, with large cobs and dent grain texture.
